Starting at 1:30 with a tour of the Slieve Aughty organic gardens and Eco Resort, owner Esther Zyderlaan will provide insights into the running of the resort, followed by a three-course lunch in the centres Three Towers Certified Organic Restaurant.
After lunch, we will continue with a tour of Sliabh Aughty Honey and Beekeepers where owner Noel Leahy will explain the process of honey making and the importance of bees in the eco-system and food chain. This is a hands-on tour where you will put on a bee suit and get to see the hive close-up.
Note: a protective suit will be provided when visiting bee hives but please wear a long sleeve shirt, socks and bring Marigold Gloves. Any person who has a known bee sting allergy with imminent risk of Anaphylactic shock or any person who is uncertain should not attend this venue.

Directions to Slieve Aughty Centre:
Pass the Loughrea Cathederal on your right and turn right at the roundabout onto the R351 (Woodford Road) south from Loughrea. Lough Rea lake will be on your right hand as you leave the town.
Travel approximately 10KM to the HILL BAR on your left side, after passing take the right turn at the four way junction, there is a petrol station and shop at this junction.
Drive a further 0.05Km and take the first left at the white house. The road is small and narrow, drive another 1.0Km and park in the car park on the left side opposite to the stables.
