A demo on bread making from Moyglass organic bakery, which is owned by Paul Illien, whom has specialised in yeast & wheat free sourdough bread & cakes since 1984. A presentation by award winning cheesemaker, Marion Roleveld of Killleen Cheese, and a presentation by Irish Seedsavers
April 28th Clam Bake & Seashore Forage
Experts in the Field of seaweed will lead a sea shore forage, gathering and talking about the different varieties of seaweed and their various uses and health benefits. Experts on seaweed will give talks on how to farm and process seaweed and Ulrich Hoeche will give a demonstration on how to pickle seaweed. The forage will ultimately lead to a clam bake Feast and picnic…one not to be missed!!
June 29th Demonstrations & workshops on “Smoking” Food
This event will showcase the various ways of smoking food (Meat, Fish, cheese), from using a built in smoker to doing it at home yourself!! Ask the experts & get smoking!!
August 25th A BBQ & Beer tasting at the Friendly Farmer
Ronan Byrne (owner) from the Friendly Farmer will give us a tour of his farm in Athenry, followed by a BBQ & local beer tasting.
September 22th Deep Sea Fishing & BBQ on the boat.
Deep sea fishing during the mackerel season led by Kevin McGowan from Connemara. The catch of the day will then be fired up on the Barbie on board the boat, now…… you can’t get fresher than that!!!
October 13th Autumn gathering at Woodville Walled Gardenal
Experts in the field of Fungi will lead the hunt for mushrooms in Woodville. Demonstrations on how to preserve your harvest of apples and berries will also take place, followed by a harvest meal
