Food Blogging and Food Photography Workshop

Slow Food Galway has a fantastic event coming up for those of you who are interested in Food Blogging or Food Photography.

Michael O’Meara (Proprietor of the award winning Oscar’s Seafood Bistro) will give a workshop on food photography (bring along your camera!)

Declan Droney (Owner of Kinvara Smoked Salmon) will give a presentation & tasting of his award winning Smoked Salmon.

Tea/Coffee break served with Kinvara Smoked Salmon on Brown Bread.

Mona Wise (winner of overall best blog in Ireland 2012;www.wisewords.ie, Author of “The chef & I” and Food columnist with The Sunday Times) will give a presentation and advice on Food Blogging.

Máirín Uí Chomáin (Acclaimed Cookery Author; “Irish Oyster Cuisine”& many more! Máirín worked as a Home Economics teacher, along with being a cookery show presenter with RTE) will talk about her new up and coming book on Salmon.

Question & Answer session (Ask the experts for advice!)

A public debate on the proposed large-scale fish farm off the coast of Inis Oírr, Aran Islands is being organised by the Green Party. This debate is organised for thursday night the 31st Jan @ 8pm in Nuns Island theatre.

Slow food Galway is delighted to announce that for the second year we are able to take part in The Foodie Forum at the Galway campus of GMIT.  Our info stand will be located this time on level two and some of our producer members will be present on the day with tasty delights. The extremely successful forum is organised by Cormac Handy, Jacinta Dalton and Colin Gilligan, all Lecturers in the College of Tourism and Arts at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology.
